Double Diamond

It's the end of the month again and I haven't managed to create a new post, so I'm going to fill in with a couple of simple Diamond designs. They're essentially the same model, but one has a colour change to make it a little bit more interesting. The basic idea is fairly obvious, and I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of them have been done before.

More about artful letter closures

The last post about artful letter closures from 1831 took me ages to put together, and was changed around and edited so many times that in the end I couldn't look at it anymore and was just desperate to get it finished. So looking back on it again I was horrified to find that it didn't include the full written description of what I referred to as the Cross Letterfold, which was the main point of the article. Not only that, but I started finding the same basic fold in other books with all sorts of variations.

So I'm now in the process of editing the article to include the missing bits and fix a few other things I happened to notice. Maybe it would have been better to leave it as it was and do a new follow-up post, but at this point that would mean undoing all the changes I've already made and probably creating even more of a mess. When it's all finished I'll make an announcement and anyone who's interested will be able to go back and have a look.
